Pros and cons of Xiaomi 13T

Xiaomi 13t pros and cons
Xiaomi 13T pros and cons

Full review

Design

The Xiaomi 13T has a simple boxy and beautiful design. It is built with a polished metal frame and a vegan leather back. The Xiaomi 13T comes in three colors:

Black|Meadow Green| and Alpine blue.

It is just 197g which is light to keep in the pocket all day. The phone feels solid and comfortable in the hand.

Display

This phone has a bright, sharp, and vibrant screen, with excellent contrast and viewing angles. Very responsive at 144Hz considering this price point.

The display also supports HDR10+ for clear video streams and has an in-display fingerprint scanner that works fast and reliably.

The display is protected by gorilla glass 5 and an IP68 water resistance rating. This means it will not be easily affected by dust, water splashes, or drops

Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra mid-category processor powers the Xiaomi 13T. This is a 4nm chip that gives up to 3.31GHz CPU speed.

"MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra mid-category processor powers the Xiaomi 13T. This is a 4nm chip that gives up to 3.31GHz CPU speed."

This makes 13T score below 13T Pro which clocks 3.35Ghz

The phone has 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage which can handle many tasks you throw at it. Whether it’s multitasking, streaming live videos, or even light gaming.

MIUI 14 built on Android 13 offers a smooth and responsive user experience.

However, it also includes preinstalled apps and ads some of which are annoying. It is possible to deactivate some and others cannot be disabled.

Battery

It has a strong battery that is expected to last for a full day of heavy use or two days of moderate use. Many users disputed this claim and were disappointed with the way the battery drained easily.

The 67W hyper charger charges it in 40 minutes to full charge with no wireless charging or reverse wireless charging. This is understandable considering its price.

Camera

The Xiaomi 13T has a three-camera setup on the back:

Xiaomi 13T camera system
  • 50MP main camera,
  • 50MP telephoto camera with 20x digital zoom.
  •  12MP ultra-wide camera.

The camera performance is good, with sharp and detailed photos in various lighting conditions powered by AI features that can enhance the colours. There is no complaint about the camera for its price and category.

The selfie camera takes decent selfies, with natural skin tones and smooth effects. Its records HDR+10 in 1080P @30fps

Audio

The phone has stereo speakers that deliver loud and high-pitched sound. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, which is rare to see in flagship phones these days.

The phone also supports Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio for an immersive audio experience.

Connectivity

  • Xiaomi 13 supports up to 5G connection with two Nano SIM slots or Nano and eSIM
  • Supports NFC for easy pay-ins at the counters
  • Bluetooth 5.4 (latest) for easy file transfer and connection with other devices
  • Wi-Fi 6 ensures unbroken internet connections

The Xiaomi 13T  is a great smartphone that offers value for money.

It has a stunning design and display, a powerful performance and battery and a versatile camera system.

  • Preinstalled annoying apps, and ads
  • No wireless charging.
  • No headphone jack

Recommendations

If you are looking for a budget premium phone that will give you a nice experience, the Xiaomi 13T is worth considering.

Pros and Cons

Full review of Xiaomi 13T Pro

Design

The Xiaomi 13T Pro has a sleek and elegant design built with a solid frame and a vegan leather back that comes in three colours:

Black, meadow green, and alpine blue.

It is just 206g which makes it very light to hold all day.

Display

The phone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 2400 x 1080 resolution.

The screen is bright, sharp, and vibrant, with excellent contrast and viewing angles.

The display also supports HDR10+ and has an in-display fingerprint scanner that works fast and reliably.

The display is protected by gorilla glass and IP68 water resistance rating.

Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor powers the Xiaomi 13T Pro. This is a 4nm chip that gives up to 3.35GHz CPU speed.

Xiaomi 13 T Pro Processor

Depending on your budget you can choose from a variety of storage and memory options; RAM 12GB | 16GB of RAM and 256GB| 512GB to 1TB of internal storage.

With such storage, I have not found any user complaining of inefficient this phone is from navigating through the apps to playing games.

one runs on MIUI 14, based on Android 13. The software is smooth and responsive, with some useful features and customization options.

However, it also comes with some preinstalled apps and ads which you can deactivate.

Battery

It has a 5000mAh battery that can last for a full day of heavy use or two days of moderate use. Unlike the 13T users credit this battery for lasting as expected.

The  120W hyper charger charges it in 20 minutes to full charge. The problem is that it does not have wireless charging or reverse wireless charging. This is a bit disappointing if you are choosing a phone that can stand future advancement.

Camera

The Xiaomi 13T Pro has a three-camera setup on the back:

  • 50MP main camera.
  • 50MP telephoto camera with 20x digital zoom.
  •  12MP ultra-wide camera.

The camera performance is impressive, with sharp and detailed photos in various lighting conditions. The same as with 13T . This is unique because mostly in all Pro versions cameras are always improved.

The video quality is also good, with up to 8K resolution at 24 frames per second (fps) and 4K @ 24fps,30fps or 60 fps and steady stabilization.

The selfie camera of 20MP on the top center of the screen takes decent selfies, with natural skin tones and smooth effects. And It records HDR+10 in 1080P @30fps

Audio

The phone has stereo speakers that deliver loud and clear sound quality.

It’s not surprising that the 3.5mm headphone jack is absent, given the prevalent use of wireless headsets today. If you enjoy media this phone supports Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio for an immersive audio experience.

Connectivity

Xiaomi 13 T Pro supports up to 5G connection with two Nano SIM slots or Nano and eSIM

Supports NFC |Bluetooth 5.4 (latest)| Wi-Fi 7 (latest)

Conclusion

The Xiaomi 13T Pro is a decent mid-range smartphone that offers value for money.

It has a stunning design and display, a powerful performance and battery and a versatile camera system. The difference it has over the 13T is higher memory of RAM options and a more powerful processor

It has only two drawbacks like:

  • Preinstalled annoying apps, and ads
  • No wireless charging.

Recommendations

If you are looking for a nice premium phone that won’t break the bank, the Xiaomi 13T Pro is worth considering.
